This Guy! Patrick Moore 

Patrick Moore, in the early 1970's obtained a Ph.D. in ecology and helped found GreenPeace. However, he has been out of academia since then and out of GreenPeace for 30 years. 

For the last several decades Patrick he has gone on tour as a hired scientist. As with most consultants (and I have done my time as a consultant), he has become a puppet of those who are paying him. 

Now I will give him credit. I agreed with his perspective on chlorine (dysentery is a Bitch!) and nuclear power (at least until we get the Stellerator running). I have to admit that I don't think he's completely wrong on his stance on clear cutting forests. Forests, if managed correctly, can withstand and benefit from some clearcutting. IF DONE PROPERLY!

However, Patrick, since about 2009, has lost his way, or found a pile of money and sold his sole for it. He is currently telling people that elevated CO2  our atmosphere, due to humans burning fossil fuels, is a good thing. Actually, he makes it very clear, that it is plant food. Well, yes, any grade 10 student would agree Patrick, plants do eat CO2 but the current issue on Earth is that humans are producing way more than plants can possibly soak up. This is seen in the fact that we are now well above 400 ppm CO2 and we're not exactly over run with plants. Yes, I know there is indication they are growing better, in some places, just not sub-Saharan Africa etc... 

So what's the big deal?

The big deal is that I do believe that Patrick does actually care about the Earth. He has simply been dragged into the debate on Climate Change and is being paid by the wrong side. The risk of damage to our only planet from human caused climate change is very high. Too high to risk the future of next generations.

To have some one like Patrick go rogue on the environmental movement is even more damaging. He has made thousands turn their back on their concern. He has made it okay for them to stop caring about the Earth. His Twitter account propagates this and attacks those working to pass along good science.

Patrick, its not too late for you to fix this. Stop your lies and discuss the truth!
